Well that’s the 2nd trip to Nuthampstead this year this time for the UT. A good entry for the event some 10 squads not all full but close to it. The day was a bit cold and windy at times, and the last few rounds for the late squads a bit of a downpour to top it all off. The shooting was very close all the way through the day, making it a great day’s shooting and competitive. As the day unfolded the best shooter finally pipped all. My thanks to Ed and Nicky and their staff for their work.
****** IMPORTANT NEWS ******* We have been advised today by the CPSA that all England Selection Shoots have been cancelled for the remainder of the season and this is across all disciplines. The England Selection Sporting Shoot scheduled for Sporting Targets this weekend will still go ahead but is now downgraded to a normal registered shoot. Has now been cancelled, but Sporting Targets remain open as usual.
Can I ask you all to spread this far and wide.
Can I stress that Sporting Targets are not running a registered shoot this weekend.
I will of course update you of any news as soon as I get it.
Entries now open for the Cambs sportrap on Sun 26th April at Eriswell Cambs shooters take priority for the first 2 weeks and then open to all after the 24th March so book in early to be sure of entry
Well as some would say: ” it’s a tad blustery”, but we had real downpours at times and the wind made it a struggle to stand tall or upright, but the 14 cambs shooters that came to support the first of the championships braved it all. We had a real good shoot on our hands, the scores were a little lower than usual, but they all seemed to enjoy at least part of the day.
Winners: L>R Graham Carter Champion, Sarah Christensen Ladies’ & Richard Croft Vets.
Thanks to Ed and Nicky and the staff at Nuthampstead for looking after us all again.
After the AGM on 16th January 2020 a new committee was voted in. Our thanks go to Malcolm Collins for all his hard work over the years. He has taken to the decision to step down due to work commitments. New (brave?) faces for this year are Hannah Hall and Theresa Fletcher. Marcus, Marcus, Roger, Tim, Phil, Ashley, Corbie and Amelia (not pictured) have all remained on the committee.
L>R Marcus Lord, Marcus Webb (front), Roger Fletcher (rear), Tim Jones (Chair), Theresa Fletcher, Phil Barnard, Ashley Smith, Corbie Barnard, Hannah Hall.
The new committee held a brief meeting at the end of the AGM. One of the main priorities was to get confirmed dates and venues for the remaining Cambs shoots.
Looks like Ash has been nominated as the new Committee’s Trophy….Oh behave!
