Congratulations to all to who shot at the East Midlands ABT at Nottingham. There were some good targets and a great success for our Cambridgeshire Ladies team, taking the East Midlands title for 2022! Congratulations to Jane Bell, Sarah Christensen and Hazel Morris!
Thank you to Nottingham for hosting a great event too.
The calculations for the 2022 Cambridgeshire Supreme Champion have been done. Congratulations to Phil Barnard for his four consecutive win! Full details here.
Coincidentally, the same number of Cambridgeshire shooters (168) took part this year as last year in the championships that go towards the title:
A small turnout, sadly. Phil Barnard added another county championship to his haul this year, with 78ex100. Gary Thatcher took vets’ with 69ex100 (pipping Tim Jones by a single target).
This shoot was held at Eriswell Lodge on Bank Holiday Monday, 29th August, between 10 and 3pm. Philip Barnard, Lesley Gifford, and the hosts at Eriswell did an amazing job of organising this event. What a tribute to Rod!
There was a huge array of fantastic prizes, all donated by individuals and local, and national businesses.
M Goddard – High Gun
T Jones – Vets High Gun
B Woodham – Disabled High Gun
Amy Hedgecock – Ladies High Gun, Junior High Gun
Thanks to you everyone who supported the event, over £2,500 has been raised for Addenbrookes, which you all contributed to. Big thank you to Eriswell Lodge who hosted the event and made it a great day.
Congratulations to Marcus and Ethan Lord, two Cambridgeshire shooters who took part in the British Open Skeet at Eriswell this weekend. They each shot their first ever 100-straights, and what a time to do it!
They deservedly took the Parent/Child category with 200ex200, unsurprisingly, but were then faced with shootoffs for the overall title and categories/classes, as two other shooters had also shot straights.
Ethan shot 100+25+14 to come second behind Tom Clifford’s 100+25+16. He also took the Juniors’ Category.
After a mostly warm day, the Cambridgeshire County Sportrap Championship is now finished. We would like to thank everyone who came and supported the Cambridgeshire CPSA event. We saw some excellent shooting across all classifications, with some big scores being put in throughout the day. A special mention goes out to Darren Stanford, shooting a very impressive 98 ex 100 to win overall high gun for Cambridgeshire and for the day.
