Cambridgeshire OTR 2024

Well that’s the first of this year’s championships completed. The day started with heavy fog to start with, raising doubts about whether you can see the targets at all, but within an hour if seemed to lift into a reasonable day for February. All the water around made it somewhat damp under foot.

Not a high turn out for Cambs, but with there being 4 counties contesting their own championships, it made for 9 squads for the day so as not a bad turnout for the ground (with additional shooters for the sporting as well). The scores were a little wayward and most not knowing what the course was, but we all kept plugging along hoping it will get better! It was a close run thing by the end of the day as most of our scores were very close to each other. Our results were:

Cambs Champion: Christopher Cheng 75

Vets’ and Mens’ champion: Tim Jones 72

Unfortunately no ladies juniors or colts were in attendance. Full scores here.

Our thanks to Ed and Nicky and all their staff for looking after the shooting and the food side of the day. We look forward to our next visit in 2 weeks’ time for the ABT on 10th march 2024 get booked in to come and join in.

Sportrap and Olympic Trap Results

Hi all.

Well we have had a very busy weekend last week with the Sportrap & olympic Trap both having to be on the same day,

We were fortunate that due to being full on Sunday Eriswell opened up the entries on Saturday as well,

so some of us could attend both shoots.

We also had a full day on Sunday at Nuthampstead with 12 squads, as it was Essex championships as well.

Which makes for a good days shooting all round and is a good result for the grounds.thanks go to both grounds

for holding these for us and the scorers and helpers without them the shoots would not be possible.

Thanks.

Tim, on behalf of the Committee.
