Cambridgeshire Sportrap 2024

Sporting Targets 19th May 2024

We were at Sporting Targets today for the Cambridgeshire Sportrap. After a short spell of morning fog, the sun came out to give us all a wonderful bright and sunny day – perfect for shooting. Great range of targets were before us, but the combinations made some harder than they looked at first sight. Well done to all the competitors.

Our thanks once again go to the scorers and staff for the organisation and help to make the shoot a success – thanks to you all.

Cambridgeshire Sportrap 2023

The Cambridgeshire Sportrap went to East of England Shooting Ground on Sunday 10th September to complete the last of the county visits there for this year, and a wonderful hot sunny day it was until the prize giving then the heavens opened like you would not believe!

In the space of ten minutes hiding in the clubhouse the car park was flooded and most of the shooters for the sporting that were left were also very wet, but it almost stopped so they all went back out to finish off their round – well done all,

There were some very testing targets on the Sportrap for many, but some seem to make it look easy.

Well shot all who attended.

Sportrap and Olympic Trap Results

Hi all.

Well we have had a very busy weekend last week with the Sportrap & olympic Trap both having to be on the same day,

We were fortunate that due to being full on Sunday Eriswell opened up the entries on Saturday as well,

so some of us could attend both shoots.

We also had a full day on Sunday at Nuthampstead with 12 squads, as it was Essex championships as well.

Which makes for a good days shooting all round and is a good result for the grounds.thanks go to both grounds

for holding these for us and the scorers and helpers without them the shoots would not be possible.

Thanks.

Tim, on behalf of the Committee.

Cambridgeshire Sportrap 28th/29th October – Cambridge GC

This was tough but fair, the wind made it tough but it was windy for all taking part but, as usual you can’t stop the cream from rising to the top and that it did with two of the country’s top men Mark Bowes and Harry Seal finishing on 87.  Only one person bettered that but he was a Suffolk shooter, Richard Bunning (89).  Vets won by Michael Fryer (79), Juniors Taylor Hedgecock (84) and Ladies Holly Duggan (73), and Colts Kieran Carter (71).  Well shot to you all.

Details of who actually won to follow once provided by the committee!
