On 15th February the UT championship took place at times in blizzard conditions and the remainder in heavy rain – thank goodness for the covered layouts!
Congratulations go to:
Championship winner and junior/colt winner – Benjamin Jordan (85);
Thank you to the team at Nuthampstead for hosting the Championship and putting on a good shoot. Thanks also go to Ewan of Nuthampstead GC for personally sponsoring the Championship Winner which was very much appreciated.
A reminder that the Cambs OT Championship is on Sunday 22 February 2026 at Nuthampstead.
Welcome to another year of Clay shooting in Cambridgeshire. A quick reminder that the first three championships are almost upon us on 8th, 15th and 22nd of February, being the ABT, UT and OT respectively. All are being held at Nuthampstead Shooting Ground. Book on in advance by email to nicky@clayshoot.biz or turn up by 10am on the day to shoot. Practice is available at the ground on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The fixture dates we know are here, with more to be added once finalised.
The Cambs 2026 AGM took place on 20 January 2026. There were only 8 Cambridgeshire members in attendance, including Committee members, which was disappointing. John Martin (East-Midlands representative) attended along with Kenji. Thank you to those who attended.
A new Committee was elected for 2026 comprising T Jones (Chair), P Barnard (Vice-Chair), G Thatcher (Treasurer), J Jones (Secretary), L Carter-Gifford, A Taylor.
J Bell, A Oakey and K Flitton stood down from the Committee and were thanked for their work over the last year.
Keepsake momentos were handed out – to those present at the AGM – to the 2025 Supreme Champions and Championship winners.

Those in bold were present to receive their keepsakes at the AGM
In view of the low turnout of Championship winners attending the AGM to collect their keepsake momentos for 2026 these will be handed out at the actual championship. They will be engraved with the event and year.
At the AGM it was agreed to reduce the levy to £2 for the 15 Championships being held in 2026.
Holders of trophies from 2025 Championships are reminded to ensure that they take them back on the day of the shoot or arrange to hand them to a committee member before the Championship date if they will not be attending.
The Committee hope that members will support as many of the county championship shoots as possible and look forward to catching up with everyone throughout the year.
I hope that many of you will be able to come along to support the evening. The keepsake trophies will be presented to the 2025 Championship winners and Supreme Champions. I look forward to seeing you there.
We already have dates for the first of the 2026 County Championships which will all be at Nuthampstead (all Sundays):
ABT – 8 February
UT – 15 February
OT – 22 February
Please contact Nuthampstead direct to book in.
The dates and locations for the remaining 2026 Championships will be listed here and Facebook once they are agreed. I hope many of you will be able to support the 2026 County Championships and look forward to catching up with members during the 2026 season.
