Just a little reminder that we also have a few Cambridgeshire shooters that have a passion for the exotic shooting competitions overseas. Jane Bell went to Cairo for the Helice and had a nice sunny time while we all froze in the snow, but came away with a few great results.
President’s cup – 3rd
Grand Prix – 2nd
Team event – 2nd after a shoot off
Overall standing for the week – 6th
Great to see our shooters doing so well in a overseas event.
Hi all! Well that’s the first of the shoots done for this year – the ABT was held at Nuthampstead SG last Sunday – the 12th of March 2023. The weather was fair for this time of year; a little on the cool side with the wind freshening up as the day went on. Some reasonable scores were coming in from all he squads, just the odd targets getting away from most people. Overall the scores were very close all the way through the day, with most trophy winners being decided on the last round. There were 12 squads for the day as we were twinned with Essex and Herts, which made for a good day all round with good attendance.
Thanks to Ed and the team for some great targets, and to Nicky for helping to arrange the shoots for us and being in charge of the kitchen.
Welcome to 2023. The first county championship is ABT, on the 12th of March (yes, TWO WEEKS) at the lovely Nuthampstead Shooting Ground. It’s a great ground with 4 ABT layouts (and DTL, sporting and skeet if you fancy some additional shooting) and a kitchen offering full meals and snacks. It’s a regular haunt of many of GB’s finest shooters, so you can also play “spot the Olympic medallist” if you’re bored! If you’re not sure where it is (hint, slightly south of Duxford) then click here for directions.
Remember that the county team for ABT is chosen from the results of this shoot, so do turn up if you’d like to earn a county badge and the right to wear the lovely Cambridgeshire Shooting Team clothing. We’re looking for you, Juniors and Ladies, as we’re often under-represented in those categories in the intercounties match. And of course it’s your chance to win the championship.
Welcome to a new year of Clay Target Shooting in Cambridgeshire. We have a new committee who have arranged 15 county championships for you this year (yes, Handicap by Distance is back). The first of these is now less than a month away on 12th March – the ABT at Nuthampstead.
Cambridgeshire CPSA will be holding their AGM on the 26th January at the Bell Inn at Stilton PE7 3RA please arrive around 7pm for a 7.30pm start
We will be doing a trophy presentation to all championship overall winners and supreme champions.
We would also be voting in a new committee and if you feel you would like to be part of how the County is run for shooters please put yourself forward!
