Cambridgeshire Olympic Skeet Championship 2010

Held at Northampton S.G. on Sunday July 18th.

A doubled turn-out compared to last year saw much muttering about what a challenging discipline OSK is. The champion of the last two years, Rod Gifford, had to be content with a Veterans' trophy as David Christensen finally got himself his first county title after many years of trying. A mere one clay ahead entering the last layout, a determined 20 on the last round added to a previous rounds of 16,20,18 to see a total of 74ex100, 6 ahead of Rod in second place. The Cambridgeshire contenders were all on the same squad, leading to a good atmosphere of friendly rivalry with Graeme "I've got an ISU stripe sewn onto my skeet vest" demonstrating some smooth shooting only offset by a slight problem of remembering target orders on stand 4. I'm sure he'll be a force to be reckoned with in years to come though. Rod also managed a Veterans' medal in the contemporaneous East Midlands Championship.
