Cambridgeshire Universal Trench Championship 2009

The 2009 County Championships broke with tradition and had reasonably fne weather (but then we didn't schedule it for Wimbledon finals week this year!). 8 squads had the 13 Cambridgeshire shooters nestling within them. Defending Champion Pete Waller was obviously aware that he'd have to up his game to keep the trophy on his side of the mantelpiece, and duly put in a fine 87 to come 2nd. However he'll still be able to see the trophy regularly has he was beaten with a magnificient 88 by his son George, whose 20/24/20/24 got him the County Championship and Junior High Gun. Nick Evans, shooting in-between the Wallers in squad 2 took the Veterans' Trophy, and Belinda York celebrated her return to competitive county shooting by taking the Ladies' Trophy with 84.
