Cambridgeshire Skeet Doubles 17th April 2016 Eriswell Lodge
27 Shooters, 13 of whom were county members, turned out for the Cambridgeshire Skeet Doubles championship at Eriswell on Sunday 17th April.
Thank goodness it was a dry and mainly sunny day, if a little cool. The wind, though not strong, was sufficient to make the high bird dive somewhat, which caught out a lot of shooters, but at least it was consistent on all ranges.
Peter Cook, in spite of an eye injury, took an early lead with a 93 but his score was topped in the last squad out by, you've guessed it, Chris Morris, who shot an excellent 98 to take the County Champion Trophy.
Peter Cook's 93 gave him the Senior Men's trophy, a surprised and delighted Liz Cook took the Ladies' Trophy on a score of 79, with Malcolm Collins taking the Veterans' Trophy with a 91. Well done to you all. Regretfully there were no Juniors or Colts.
Once again, our thanks to Stuart and his team for hosting our County Championship with such efficiency.
A special thank you must go to all those who stayed to the end of the shoot for the presentations.
