We are gathering speed into the new year of the Cambridgeshire championships. Alas, the weather is not helping, but with a very strong and blustery day we went to Northampton for the double rise. The first squad included Phil Barnard, last years’ double rise champion, and he shot a magnificent 81 and made them look far easier than most of us found them. That score was to stay highest to the end. Derek Mclean and Graham Carter made a great effort to come joint 2nd place on 69. Vets' was again won by Michele Conway on 52, and Ladies' was won with a good score of 63 by Sarah Christensen. It may have been hard for some of us, but it was hopefully enjoyable at the same time.
