Skeet Doubles
9th September 2012
We expected a change of venue this year, but as it turned out it was not to be so we went back to Lakenheath CTC, where it's been held for many a year and that was not a bad thing with super targets in the sky.
Luckily we had super weather, so the need for a club house was not necessary in fact some shelter would have been welcome as the sun was about the hottest I had known it in September.
Janet Maguire managed to keep ahead of the other ladies and finished with a buffer of 3 targets and with it the Cambridgeshire Ladies' Champion.
Colin Fordham, Chris Morris and Malcolm Collins found that the 94 they had recorded earlier was enough to put them into a threeway shootoff. Chris was the first to fall by the wayside leaving Colin and Malcolm to fight for the Championship. Malcolm shot straight, which was doubles on station four, Colin fell short by one so Malcolm took the Cambridgeshire Skeet Doubles Championship. But as it turned out they were all winners with Colin taking the Vets' title and Chris Morris taking the new Senior men's shield supplied by Peter and Janet Maguire many thanks to them for their generosity.
