Congratulations to all three of our OT champions on retaining their titles. James Sole retained his Olympic Trap Title (again), Anita the Ladies' title and Pete Waller took the Vets' (remember Vets starts earlier in OT, so ignore the fact that he shows up as Senior in this list from the CPSA website). In fact the names of the top five shooters this year match that of last year (although with a slight re-ordering). Of course the OT was late in 2011 and early in 2012, so I guess it's not too surprising. But anyway, here's the official report from our roving reporter and County Chairman, Allan Wright:

Hello all, well we have no sooner started the year, just in to March, and we already have 3 Championships under our belt.

Sunday the 25th March was the first of our annual visits to Nuthampstead, only this time in as good weather as we are likely to have all year. This shoot has been in November for a few years, in the cold, so it makes sense that we should have much better scores this year, but I will leave you to make your own minds up on that subject.

Our Champion will come as no surprise: James Sole who shot 24 on the last layout to shoot 90, the second highest score on the day. We shared the day with the county championships of Essex and Herts, so at least we would know at the end of the day just how good our shooters are in comparison.

What I did notice was that 14 Cambridgeshire shooters was almost double that of any other county, but with 7 squads it was a good turn out for the ground.
