Chris Morris (County Champion)
Report from Allan Wright: Bank Holiday Monday. Flaming August? I don't think so! The Cambridgeshire travellers went to Lakenheath CTC for the Cambs County Skeet Doubles
Championship.
Overcast cloudy sky lots of wind more like November/December than August (nothing new here - see last year's report)
Targets up and down this was to prove a real test.
The first squad saw Philip Barnard put in a 90 to set the day running, the
next squad Colin Fordham did the same. So it looked like 90 was a good score
and held its own until the middle of the day saw Chris Morris come in with
a 96. This seemed likely to be as good as it got until the last squad of the day;
Albert Taylor went to 50 only 2 away so all eyes were on number 2 range
as the last 50 targets were being shot. No change in the lead though as
Albert slipped away a few to many to finnish with 92 - still a very good score for the conditions -
and joined Peter Cook on second place.
The Ladies went to Michele Conway with 88, pipping the Ladies' Skeet champion
Liz Green by two targets. The Vets went to Rod Gifford with a super 90 to
round off a good day for all.
