Cambridgeshire Handicap by Distance AND Olympic Skeet Championships 

The Cambridgeshire Handicap by Distance and Olympic Skeet Championships will be held at The Priory Clay Target Centre on Sunday 29 March 2026.    Please contact the ground direct to book in.

We hope that as many Cambridgeshire shooters as possible will support these two Cambridgeshire Championships and look forward to seeing them at The Priory Clay Target Centre.

A chilly, windy day presented some challenging targets on a difficult but interesting course. Congratulations to Championship winner D Stanford with an 87.  He is the first winner of a new trophy generously sponsored by R Allen, the original trophy not having been returned for several years.

The next Cambridge County Championships are the Handicap by Distance (100 birds) and Olympic Skeet (50 birds) at Priory on Sunday 29 March.

Congratulations go to Championship winner Giovanni Russo (75) and to Tim Jones (69) who was Men’s and Veterans’ winner.

A new Committee was elected for 2026 comprising T Jones (Chair), P Barnard (Vice-Chair), G Thatcher (Treasurer), J Jones (Secretary), L Carter-Gifford, A Taylor.

J Bell, A Oakey and K Flitton  stood down from the Committee and were thanked for their work over the last year.

Keepsake momentos were handed out – to those present at the AGM – to the 2025 Supreme Champions and Championship winners.

In recognition of his significant achievement of being Supreme Champion for 7 years running, P Barnard was presented with a special award of an engraved decanter and whisky glasses.

In view of the low turnout of Championship winners attending the AGM to collect their keepsake momentos for 2026 these will be handed out at the actual championship.  They will be engraved with the event and year.

At the AGM it was agreed to reduce the levy to £2 for the 15 Championships being held in 2026.

Holders of trophies from 2025 Championships are reminded to ensure that they take them back on the day of the shoot or arrange to hand them to a committee member before the Championship date if they will not be attending.

The Committee hope that members will support as many of the county championship shoots as possible and look forward to catching up with everyone throughout the year.
