The chair opened the meeting at 19:35 and thanks all the committee members for their efforts during the year
- Apologies for absence
None – everyone was present.
- Minutes of last meeting

- Matters arising
Only that covered in 5.
- Correspondence received
Email from Tony Randall – see end of agenda
The individuals on the committee minuted as not being happy with some previous trophies could no longer remember which trophies they were thinking of, but were sure that it was not any of the trophies that Tony had bought. Secretary to email Tony to this effect.
- Treasurer’s Report and Budget forecast
Cash balance £907.94. Budget looking healthy.
- Championships for 2009
It was felt that acoustic release for DTL and S/B was highly desirable, and required for all other trap disciplines. Furthermore we want to make sure that championships be positioned just before major competitions in the same discipline at the same ground if possible so as to boost levy income, and that the DTL should be before the DTL qualifying cut-off. Following on from this discussion, the applications that had been received were discussed. A number of disciplines has single grounds applying and so were awarded immediately:
UTR, D/T, OTR : Nuthampstead
ZZ : A1 SG
OSK : Northampton SG
D/R: High Tower
After some discussion, it was decided to try holding the DTL and S/B on the same day, with 100 DTL followed by 50 S/B. Entrants can shoot either or both. This was awarded to Northampton SG.
ESK and SKD both to Lakenheath, although Pete will once again be asked to use layouts in such a way that he does not have to turn Cambridgeshire shooters away.
STR to Country Pursuits
ESP to Barrow Heath
ABT to Nuthampstead
A/R to Northampton SG
No applications had been received for FITASC. Chris Morris will determine where the EM FITASC is and try to hold the Cambridgeshire at the same time/place. If this is not possible, we will try to arrange a 50bird Cambridgeshire championship in the hope the lower time and cost required for a 50 birder may attract more shooters.
Michele and David will attempt to arrange dates with the grounds once the “Draft 4” of the national timetable is available
- Clothing and Team Badges
Malcolm to order next years championship badges- one for every championship that has a trophy
- Trophies – should we fill the gaps?
Steve Grant will procure two new trophies: Veteran’s ZZ and Ladies D/R. These will be presented to this year’s winners at the AGM.
Also on trophies: SG will continue to pursue the mystery of the mission juniors’ trophies.
SG will procure Keepsakes for presentation to champions at the AGM
- AGM for 2009 – venue/date
[this item of the minute summarises what has happened since the meeting and before the minutes were written up]. Malcolm has contacted DryFire who will present/demo their system at the AGM which will be held at Quy Mill on Tuesday 20th January 2009.
- Champion of Champions (requested by PA/DC: details at meeting)
After lengthy discussion of whether the scope of the CoC competition should be reduced (e.g. best 6 disciplines), it was decided by a narrow majority to maintain the status quo.
- East Midlands matters
None
- Date of next meeting – is the AGM?
The AGM
- AOB
Michele is to send a card of condolences, on behalf of the committee, to Alan Wright, following the death of his wife.

Email received, 18th August:
To: The secretary Cambs CPSA,
Dear Sir, as the committee member who was responsible for (with the committee's approval at that time) the purchase of 90% plus of the current stock of Trophy's. Would the present committee please inform me of which Trophies are of an inappropriate quality and nature, as is stated in your minutes of 13th May 2008.
I look forward to your reply with anticipation,
Yours faithfully
