Cambridgeshire Double Trap Championship 2008

Mick Burrows romped home 10 points clear in the Double Trap at Nuthampstead on September 7th. A larger turnout than previous years saw a couple of upsets: Nick Evans, normally a consistent appearer in the top two at county trap events was one; another was your Webmaster, David Christensen, who is now going to induldge himself by inflicting his tale of woe on you: chasing the champion of champions title he had put in 350 D/T targets' practice in the previous week in preparation for the county championship including a 100ex150 registered on the Saturday. He then learnt first-hand how nerves can wreck your gun mount and put in rounds of 21ex50 and 24ex50. For the final "well I've blown it now, what does it matter?" round, he choked up to extra-full/extra-full and shot 36ex50. It's a funny old sport.

Rod Gifford, Sarah Christensen, Mick Burrows, Tony Randall

As well as the County Championship, Mick Burrows took 2nd Place in the East Midlands. Rod Gifford was Top Veteran in the County and East Midlands, with Tony Randall taking East Midlands' Veterans' second place, and John Barnard EM Vets' third. Sarah Christensen was Lady High Gun in both County and East Midlands.
