Cambridgeshire Double Rise Mayland 8th May 2016

Well summer came this week and went to Essex just in time for the double rise. A nice sunny day with no wind; can't ask for more than that for a good day's shooting. We had a couple of problems with the trap [spring fell off] but Billy soon sorted that out and off we went again. 24 entries that's a high for this discipline, most people found them just a bit more tricky than they looked, but it was enjoyed by most.

Double Rise Winners 2016

L>R Chris Morris, Hazel Whiten & Malcolm Collins

The high gun was taken by Chris Morris with a wonderful 93, we all chased him but to no avail. Steve Eley shot 89 just a few short from last year's score, Hazel Whiten also a few short from last year's score but still good enough to take the ladies' trophy. The veterans' was to go to Malcolm Collins with a credible 85, a beatable score but not on the day. Well shot all who attended and thank you all for traveling all the way to Essex to have a wonderful day out at Mayland. Thanks to Billy and all his staff for once again giving us a good day out, well organised and good targets, thanks.
