July 26th was a perfect day to shoot ZZ at Rugby: sunny, hot and a very slight breeze. John Nightingale and his team welcomed us warmly and the shoot ran with the usual calm efficiency that we have all come to expect. Everyone enjoyed the day.
Eight Cambridgeshire shooters were in competition, Tim Jones won the overall title on a creditable 17 - an excellent first attempt at the discipline. Phil Barnard and Michele Conway tied for second place with 16. Tim also took the Veterans' title with Michele in second and Rod Gifford third. Rod was very unlucky with the targets, his were mostly edge on. Michele won the Ladies' title on 16 with Sarah Christensen in second place.

Ed: David Christensen was particularly gutted as he was ahead of the field for most of the competition... right up until he threw it away moving from 14 ex 16 to 15 ex 20, a valuable lesson, it's not over 'til it's over....]
