Cambridgeshire Double Rise, Sunday 28th October 2012, Northampton Shooting Ground

Report from Allan Wright

A late change of venue meant that, once again this year, we travelled to see the ever obliging Martine at Northampton Shooting Ground.

I find it hard to believe how hard 2 simple targets just going away are, but David Christensen seemed to find them fairly straightforward. With a score of 78, he was a good bit ahead of the pack with a good solid performance and is now County Champion.

Phil Barnard came in second, 5 targets behind, just enough to take the Senior trophy by one from Tim Jones.

Michele Conway was rewarded for her chase cross-country from Sporting Targets, by taking the Ladies’ and Vets’ trophies with a score of 60. No Colts and Juniors so just the 3 winners to keep the Cam flag flying. 14 Cambs entries 2 others making 16 in all.

Very well done David, a good score and well ahead of the runner up.

Hope to see some of you next week at Nuthampstead for the last shoot of the year: Universal trench.
