Shooters

From the County Secretary: Sunday the 17th October saw the Cambridgeshire Addicted travailing to Lincolnshire the Grimsthorpe Estate for the Cambridgeshire FITASC Championship. This is surely one of the most popular sporting grounds about and has been for many a year set in large wooded areas - a magnificent place to be. The shoot was run over the traditional two days and was fully booked up with 88 entries (this alone a welcome boost for the Cambridgeshire finances). Nice sunshine and fairly warm days were just right for a Championship in October. The score board showed that the layouts were of mixed difficulty with scores of 20 plus being very good indeed. I did see on the board one 25 shot. There is no doubt this was a hardish shoot with the top scorer shooting 87 but this was exceptional. At the end of the day Jamie Harding turned in a score of 82 to become the Cambridgeshire Champion: not far behind was another good performance from Steve Grant with 80. [Although looking at the scores, 70 from colt Taylor Hedgecock is stunning - webmaster]. Mark Russel and his staff once again ran a good shoot and we thank him for that.

Jamie Harding Champion 82

Philip Simpson Vets' Champion 74
Taylor Hedgecock Colts' Champion 70
