Once again the Cambridgeshire Faithful traveled to Lakenheath in Suffolk for the Cambridgeshire English Skeet Championship.
What a super day - we couldn't have asked for a finer day! More suitable for a day on the beach than shooting but Lakenheath was still a good place to
be.

45 people shot the 100 bird Skeet Championship, 25 were Cambridgeshire. The third squad of the day set the first goal with Peter Maguire posting a very steady 96, giving the old timers something to chase. Alan Clarke followed closely with a 95, Rod Gifford chased with a 94 and things didn't get any better for the others: John Barnard and yours truly could only manage a brace of 93s.

Well done Peter winning the Vets' and, as it turned out, B class. Meanwhile Josh Pearson was geting his hands on another trophy winning the Juniors' Trophy with a hard earned 84. Young Taylor Hedgcock posted a 25 straight on his way to another Colts' Trophy and also taking C class with a super 90.
Liz Green finished with 88 this proved enough to be Ladies' Champion. Chris Morris went through posting a fine 98 that proved to be good enough at the end of the day after Philip Barnard shot the same score on the last squad, but lost the shoot-off to Chris. Chris shot 25 in the shoot off and so once again Chris is County Champion.

While this was going on Jonathan Hall from Norfolk was setting up the only 100 of the day and duly took home the Bev Waller Trophy (for highest score on the day of the championship, regardless of county).
